Nicola Fagerer from the LBI Saalfelden received the Best Paper Award 2011 for Young Author Scientists of the International Society of Pteridinology for her publication on investigations about the expression of neopterine and the chemokines CXCL13, CXCL1, and CCL2 and the role of B-cell activation in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the journal “Pteridines”. Burkhard Klösch from the LBI Vienna-Oberlaa received the Poster Prize 2012 of the Austrian Society for Rheumatology for his poster on the effects of the polyphenols curcumin and resveratrol on fibroblast-like synoviocytes from patients with RA.
